At 1736 hours, Rescue Squad 14 was alerted to the 9900 block of Baltimore Avenue, near the entrance to the Capitol Beltway, for the personal injury accident involving a box truck that rear ended an 18-wheeler.  First arriving units found the same and advised of one trapped.

Rescue Squad 14 arrived and started extrication efforts by removing the driver's door.  With the driver's legs trapped, hydraulic rams were setup to push the dash off of the patient.  The driver was extricated, loaded into an ambulance, and transported to a local trauma center.  Rescue Squad 14 was ready for service at 1814 hours.
